After a fantastic year in 2010 with a turnover amounting to 239 million NOK, Aqualine has started this year even better and with full order books. They will see a new record for the number of assembly sites in July with the simultaneous fitting of cages and mooring systems at 9 locations all over the world.
- The production capacity is exploited to the full at all our assembly sites in Norway, says General Manager Trond Lysklætt. -And we have a well filled order book which will keep us busy for the rest of the year. All employees have contributed greatly; which is the reason that we have delivered as agreed.
It is a matter of fact that all the fish farmers demand and order bigger and more robust equipment. This is proof that the business thinks in terms of safety. Many also consider the possibility to employ the equipment at more exposed locations.
- We have produced, delivered and launched a very big floating collar with an interior circumference of 200 m. This is the world’s largest and must withstand a lot of forces, Lysklætt continues. - And it is not located in a calm fiord, but on the contrary at unsheltered and exposed Grip outside of Kristiansund, Norway. As a start without any fish in the net, but if everything develops as expected, we will see fish in it quite soon.
For the first time, Aqualine has received an order for delivery to Panama. It will be delivered in July 2011. Together with large volume orders to Tasmania, Shetland and Canada, they have succeeded internationally. Even the Chilean subsidiary has had considerable tasks assembling net cages, which also contributes to the full steam ahead.
